Memorial Day Prayer

Heavenly Father, bless and protect all Military Chaplains and fill them with the joy and courage of their vocation as personal ministers of Christ in preaching your word and nourishing our troops with the Sacraments.

Heavenly Father, please also bless and protect all of our courageous men and women serving in the military around the world. Please pray for all veterans and let then know how much we appreciate their service to their country. Please keep them safe and under your protection and guidance. Please also pray for all of those brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us, so that so that we can live in freedom today.

Prayers also to all parents, spouses, and children back at home who pray and worry about their loved ones, and in a special way, all those who have lost loved ones who have served. May God bring you much peace and comfort.

Please join me in praying the St. Michael prayer to give all of these men and women extra protection against the forces of evil in the world and to keep them strong, faithful to God, and safe, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Divine Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

St. Francis de Sales

Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life with fear. Rather, look to them with full confidence that, as they arise, God to whom you belong will in his love enable you to profit by them. He has guided you thus far in life, do you but hold fast to his dear hand, and he will lead you safely through all trials. Whenever you cannot stand, he will carry you lovingly in his arms.

Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. The same eternal father who takes care of you today will take care of you tomorrow, and every day of your life, either he will shield you from suffering or he will give you unfailing strength to bear it.

Be at peace then, and put aside all useless thoughts, all vain dreads and all anxious imaginations. Amen (St. Francis de Sales)

Morning Prayer

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I will begin this day.

I thank you, Lord, for having preserved me during the night. I will do my best to make all I do today pleasing to You and in accordance with Your will. My dear mother Mary, watch over me this day. My Guardian Angel, take care of me. St. Joseph and all you saints of God, pray for me.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.

I wish to gain all the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say and the good works I shall perform this day. Amen.
