The Twelve Days of Christmas began yesterday – Christmas Day!
The period before this is Advent, the time of preparation for Christmas.
The twelve days of Christmas end on Epiphany, the day that the Three Wise Men came to pay homage to the Child Jesus. In 2019, Epiphany is on Sunday, January 6th. The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord is on Sunday, January 13th, when the Christmas season officially ends.
Traditionally, many Catholics do not take down their Christmas trees and other Christmas decorations until the day after Epiphany.
So now that Advent is over, and Christmas is here – light the fire, turn the lights on your Christmas tree, snuggle up with your loved ones, play some Christmas music, and seek a little faith, hope, love, joy and peace this Christmas season as you celebrate the birth of our Saviour.
Merry Christmas!
