Hail Mary Prayer

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Memorare Prayer

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Our Lady of Fatima

All of the popes since the Fatima Miracle have recognized that the Fatima Message is authentic. Several Popes have gone to Fatima in person, including Paul VI, John Paul I and John Paul II. John Paul II said at Fatima in 1982 that “the Message of Fatima imposes an obligation on the Church.

It was on Sunday, May 13, 1917 Our Lady of Fatima first appeared to the 3 children. Coincidentally, on May 13, 1981 Blessed Pope John Paul II was shot 4 times at St Peter’s Square in Rome.

Here is a picture of Pope John Paul II with a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, a few weeks after the attempt on his life on May 13, 1981.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

Happy Mother’s Day to Our Blessed Mother

“Let those who think that the Church pays too much attention to Mary give heed to the fact that our blessed Lord Himself gave ten times as much of His life to her as He gave to His apostles.” – (Archbishop Fulton Sheen)

Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday to our beautiful Blessed Mother!

May Crowning

I wanted to share this photo to show you how much the children at Pinecrest Academy, a Catholic school in Cumming, GA, love our Blessed Mother. They held their annual May crowning ceremonies this past week in their elementary, middle and high school, and each of the children sang Ave Maria and other songs as they came up and set beautiful flowers around our Blessed Mother.

Like I mentioned before, this Facebook page is dedicated to Our Lady, so I love sharing photos like this, that show how much we love and honor Mary.

Children, flowers and Our Blessed Mother – it doesn’t get any sweeter than this! Dear Blessed Mother, we love you. Please pray for our children, and keep all of them in your loving care.

The Blessed Mother reflects her Divine Son . . .

“It may be objected: ‘Our Lord is enough for me. I have no need of her.’ But He needed her, whether we do or not. God, Who made the sun, also made the moon. The moon does not take away from the brilliance of the sun. All its light is reflected from the sun. The Blessed Mother reflects her Divine Son; without Him, she is nothing. With Him, she is the Mother of Men.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Mary, Queen of Heaven

Mary is referred to as queen not just of heaven, but also of peace, of the angels, of all Christians, among many other things.

Because Mary is the mother of Christ the King, it is logical that she would be called Queen. (A modern example would be the mother of Queen Elizabeth II of England, who was known as the Queen Mother.)

Pope Pius XII affirmed this in his encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam when he wrote, “according to ancient tradition and the sacred liturgy the main principle on which the royal dignity of Mary rests is without doubt her Divine Motherhood.” St. Alphonsus Ligouri, said, “Because the virgin Mary was raised to such a lofty dignity as to be the mother of the King of kings, it is deservedly and by every right that the Church has honored her with the title of ‘Queen.’”

Mary played such an important role in bringing Christ the Redeemer into the world. Certainly, only Jesus Christ, the God-Man, is King; but Mary, too, as Mother of the Jesus, is given the title of Queen , not meaning she is on equal footing with God, but reflects instead how intimately connected she was, and is, to her son and his mission.

Dear Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
